About Us

Welcome to DIY Homes Hub

You don’t need a huge budget, a garage full of power tools, or a construction background to make your space work better. That’s the whole idea behind DIY Homes Hub: practical projects for homes and small spaces, built for real people with real limitations — small budgets, small apartments, and sometimes, a landlord who has opinions about your walls.

Why We Started DIY Homes Hub

A lot of home improvement content assumes you own your place, have a full workshop, and don’t mind spending a few hundred dollars on a weekend project. That’s just not reality for most people. We wanted a resource built around what’s actually achievable: projects that fit rental restrictions, small square footage, and tighter budgets, without sacrificing the payoff of a space that finally feels functional.

What We Cover

DIY Homes Hub is organized around five core areas:

  • Tools & Basic Repairs — beginner-friendly guides to the tools worth owning and the small repairs you can safely handle yourself.
  • Small-Space Storage Solutions — creative, practical ways to maximize storage in apartments, small bedrooms, and tight kitchens.
  • Rental-Friendly Upgrades — upgrades and improvements designed to be reversible, lease-compliant, and deposit-safe.
  • Furniture & Layout Projects — furniture builds, upgrades, and room-layout ideas to make better use of the space you have.
  • Budget-Friendly Room Makeovers — full-room transformations designed around modest budgets and accessible materials.

Our Approach

Every project on DIY Homes Hub is written with real constraints in mind — limited tools, limited space, limited budget, and in many cases, a lease that limits what you’re allowed to change. We aim to be honest about skill level, time investment, and cost for each project, and we always flag when a task is better left to a licensed professional (see our Disclaimer for more on this).

When we recommend tools, materials, or products, it’s based on genuine use or research, and we’re upfront when a recommendation involves an affiliate partnership.

Who’s Behind DIY Homes Hub

DIY Homes Hub is run by Ghani Mbr, a small-space renter turned DIY enthusiast who’s made every mistake so you don’t have to.
